Today is Friday and not much has happened since Wednesday. We know that court will be on Monday, although we are not counting on anything. Brian and I have discussed with Nadya both of us coming home after court. We crunched some numbers and decided that with the extended stay, and rent food etc..it might be more efficient for me to come home, and then fly back around the first of November after the ten day wait is up. The way that the days fall now, we would be getting back into Kiev over a weekend, and couldn't get everything accomplished before the next week anyway. We will sleep on it, and see what Monday brings. We will also compare flight rates and see what they look like. Who wants to go to Ukraine in November, right??
Tomorrow, we have permission to take Nastiya out for a few hours, so we will do pizza again for lunch, and I told her I would bring her some of her clothes to wear. Aimee and I are wanting to see if we can trim their hair, while we are out, and then maybe some sight seeing. We will also try to stop by her Grandparents home this weekend to explain to them that we will be coming for goodbyes at a different time. That is really all that is new at this time....
To my girls, we miss you so much, and Reaghan we are so proud of you for being so brave. Tate, you will not be Freddie Kruger for Halloween, that is just not going to happen!! To Kumar, thank you so much for taking care of our lawn, and there had better not be any damage to Bailey!! Thanks also to all of our commenters, they are so great to read. Lisa, I am so sorry to hear your news, and you are absolutely right, we have so much to be thankful for!! Nastiya is doing well, and will be excited when court is over as well!!

Hey, hang in there, guys! We are rooting for you here in Boise! What's with the judge, anyways? I should ask my judge to hold him in contempt. My judge will hold anyone in contempt!
Hi Fields! We haven't met, but David shared your blog with me because the photo of the three children coming back from school contains a girl in the middle that we hosted and wanted to adopt in March 06. Circumstances of hers and ours led us to wait and meant we didn't think she could be adopted/or we could adopt her. We had been told that her mother had reclaimed her in March 07. But, in August 08, David found out that she was still there in the orphanage and available. I am wondering if you can talk to her or share that Mama and Papa Carlson in America say hello and hope she is well? Her name is Karyna. Does Nastia know her? Is she happy? Does she remember us? Now that I know that she is still at the orphanage, we have been doing a lot of soul searching. This changes everything!! Seeing her in your photo makes it seem so much more do-able and right to come and get her--but do not say that to her, please. Since you are there, perhaps you could talk to her a little? Or ask others about her? Thank you so much for what you have done already. I hope that your travels soon bring you safely back with your newest blessing and into the arms of your beautiful children here at home. How very brave all of you are!!
Hi,
I've seen your daughter's picture on another blog and was hoping I would find your blog. I guess I'll have to admit it. I'm a Ukraine blog addict. It is so hard not to be once you have been over there and these children get in your heart! I am thrilled to read of so many finding homes:)
We understand all too well that feeling of leaving your child behind while you are home. Our daughter was born in Russia, so we left her the day we had court. We had initially planned to stay in Ukraine the whole time, but since we were told obtaining a birth certificate from Russia with her new adopted name could take from 2-8 months, we decided to come back. We had two kids, a house, dogs, etc, here that needed to be taken care of. As it happened, it only took two months, but it was the longest two months of our lives!!! It was very difficult when we were able to talk to her on the phone, because she would ask when we were coming to get her and we had no answer.
Congratulations on court going well! Best wishes for the rest of your journey to go smooth and swiftly!
June
